What is the SNCR?

A volunteer registry of neighbourhood cameras by citizens and business with a stated goal of improving safety in your area. 

No Access to Camera Feeds

By registering with the SNCR you are saying "I have a camera" and would be willing to share footage in the event of an incident. If an incident occurs in your area, your local Police service may reach out and request footage. At any point you can withdraw your consent from the program.

Questions And Answers

No. SNCR does not have access to your Camera. You are simply registering that you have a camera, and would be willing to share footage in the event of an incident in your area.

No, the person who supplies the video did not actually witness the crime, they are only providing the footage. The police would receive the video, provide continuity of the exhibit, and present evidence in court. The video footage would be destroyed once it isn’t needed anymore.

No. Upon registering, consent is only given to the police agency in your jurisdiction.

Yes, this is a voluntary program.
